Mike Phipps

Over their early careers, Mike and his colleague Colin Gautrey heard people complain time and time again about political machinations at their workplace. After a fruitless search for a suitable training provider, Mike and Colin eventually decided to set up Politics at Work Ltd, and develop their own workshop to tackle the difficult issues of how power works within organisations and the tactics that people use to push forward their agendas.

Mike is fast becoming one of the UK's leading authorities on office politics and positive personal power. He has worked with some of the world's largest and most prestigious organisations including Vodafone, Unilever, Royal & Sun Alliance, Zurich Insurance, Virgin, General Electric RE, Allied Domecq, Barclays Corporate Banking, RAC, Rank Hovis MacDougal and the Friends of the Royal Opera House.

This extensive experience enables him to relate quickly and easily to managers and directors in tough, fast moving political environments. His approach is outgoing and approachable, with an ability to cut through the political nonsense.

Mike is a popular speaker with the Institute of Directors, Association of MBAs and many other organizations who are captivated by his command of this important topic.

He is also co-author of 21 Dirty Tricks at Work (published by Capstone Publishing) .
